On June 29th, 2012, Bill Fairchild of the Eta Lambda Chapter was appointed to the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors by Governor Bob McDonnell.  Previously, Fairchild was a chairman of R. W. Murray Co., a privately held contractor in northern Virginia.
