This summer an incredible amount of activity has been underway; we just did not have a great deal of finality to report. And, this uncertainty is a good thing. There have been many, many calls with Sigma Chi and a meeting between Ed, me and Student Affairs. Sigma Chi’s removal from
Campus has shocked people, and yet the issues raised in that process were very serious. This has not been easy, but, in the end, I continue to fight for the Chapter and the boys, just like Ed.
Finally, this past week, Sigma Chi delivered to Virginia Tech a proposal for a different path forward than a complete 5 year suspension. The proposal is under consideration and we do not know what the final result will be. We will let you know, as we think a decision is imminent.
Regardless of the decision and the path forward, we have 107 Brothers returning to campus who need the continued engagement of the alumni. We are working on some specific requests based on the enormous outpouring that we received from the Spring. Expect another post this week.
The Chapter will also have some tough decisions to make as the forthcoming coming conditions will likely be a challenge. Ed and I have concluded they are up to the challenge.
I must admit it is a bit sad to go by the House and see the post-exit transformation. Thanks again to the House Corporation for helping us exit the House in a classy, professional manner.
Thanks to Christian Birsic (Consul) and Matt Dugan (Pro Consul) for their leadership. And, Edward Spencer, for well, being Doc!
More to follow….
