Alumni,
I am reaching out to you for a favor not only for myself, but for both the fraternity and the entire Hokie community as well. What I am asking is for you to be a part of a revolution in the way we view professional networking.
YouFolio is a professional online portfolio site developed by two Hokies that is based entirely around individuals showcasing all the meaningful content that represents everything that makes you valuable as a human being and a potential employee. The main idea behind the site is that plain text resumes worked well in the 20th century, but do not cater as well to the up and coming millennials who wish to upload content to help distinguish and display their human capital. Unlike sites such as LinkedIn, it is not based on the connections that many college students have not yet developed. The YouFolio team, winners of the VT KnowledgeWorks Business competition last spring and recognized as a top 100 startup in the world by the Kairos Society (http://vimeo.com/51959304), is currently in a crucial stage of their business life and is in need of users. I recently became the Vice President of Business Strategy and I have poured countless hours and have an enormous invested interest in the success of this company.
We are running a Greek challenge at Tech and the organization who signs up the most users receives a $1000 prize. If you could please take the five minutes to sign up at http://youfolio.com, and select Sigma Chi as the organization. Feel free to share this in your other networks, which is probably the most important part, and contact me with any questions or thoughts.
