Brothers
Hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holidays with their families and had a great month. This past month our chapter continued winning philanthropies, having a blast at formals, and traveling to Virginia Tech football games. For the second year in a row we won Kappa Delta’s Fall Festival philanthropy benefiting Richmond’s Children Hospital. The philanthropy came down to the corn hole tournament and brothers Ryne McCoy and Sam Mattern won it and won the entire philanthropy. We have won Kappa Deltas past 4 philanthropies in a row! 4 brothers this month got affiliated with 3 different sororities. Connor O’Donnell is now a Zeta Bunny Boy, Lee Scott is a Tri Delta Dolphin man, and Brian Steele and Clint Miller are Sigma Kappa Hear Throbs. Brother Ryne McCoy put on a very successful Fall Formal in the wild and crazy town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. For the brothers that have not been there it is literally Myrtle Beach but in the mountains. The formal event consisted of giving out awards, sweethearts getting their little brothers, and a southern rock classic band rocking the stage all night. For the UVA football game we had a great group of brothers travel and support our Hokies, (see picture attached). For those of you who have not seen the article, Joey Wolf was interviewed on the vandalism of the Thomas Jefferson statue and made it on local news. http://www.nbc29.com/story/16130903/virginia-tech-vandals-play-dress-up-with-tj Magister Sam Mattern has continued to do an exceptional job of leading our pledge class of now 14 throughout their pledge ship, and they will be initiated next semester. Please remember the 40th anniversary coming up, the undergrad brothers are extremely excited about this and hope to see as many alumni brothers as possible. We are working on a T-shirt design currently that will entail our chapter from the past 40 years, so if you have any ideas of what to put on it please let me know. Hope everyone has a great December, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you need help with anything or want to get involved with the chapter, please contact me at (804) 787-3722 or my email dano227@vt.edu.
IN HOC,
Daniel Hughes
